New Zealand - my trip overview.


October 14th:   Arrive in ChristChurch and rent camper van
October 15th:   Scenic ride via Arthur's Pass to Hokikita and Drive to Franz-Josef Glacierisr and then walk down Fox Glacier.  
October 16th:  4 hour scenic drive to Wanaka. Very beautiful.   The dense rain forests contrast with the rugged coastal vistas Haast Pass from the silent and remote South Westland Travel to Cromwell to Kawarau Gorge, on to Lakes Wanaka and Hawea.
October 17th: Check out Wanaka (good pizza place across from the post office and also a cafe on the corner near the lake) and then stoping at wineries on the Drive to Queenstown.  Also numerous wineries along with way. 1 1/2 hour drive to Queenstown.  Stop & play in Queenstown for a while Drive to Glenorchy at some point drive from Queenstown. Milford Sound is 4 hours from Queenstown.
October 18th:  Queenstown-Milford
Drive the shore of Lake Wakatipu to Kingston, then across farming country to Te Anau and beautiful Eglinton and Hollyford valleys, the Homer tunnel and the awesome Cleddau Canyon Full day hike on the Routeburn track, requires driving to the trail head.  A good stop along the way to Milford Sound.
October 19th:   Had bad weather- no kayaking- took a Tour boat. 
October 20th: Queenstown, Taieri Gorge and Dunedin -Cromwell, Alexandra Queenstown, Pukerangi, Taieri Gorge, Dunedin see the wildlife on the Peninsula.
October 21st: Dunedin to Christchurch-travel north to Christchurch.
October 22nd: rest and buffer day- Chirstchurch.
